I'm interested in the chef apprentice role. I wondered if I have to work away permanently? I live in Kingston upon hull.

    Hello,

For clarity: there is no "Chef Apprentice" role, but all Chefs get an apprenticeship as part of their training, with opportunities for further development such as those listed on the Army Jobs page.

As a Regular Army as a Chef you'd be working full time and the Army would accommodate you wherever you work. The only time you wouldn't regularly be able to return to Kingston upon Hull would be during the 14 week initial training, but once you arrive at your trade training at Worthy Down you'll start normal working weeks and your weekends are yours to do with as you please. After trade training Chefs can work with any British Army unit anywhere in the world, but you would most likely remain based in the UK.
