I have been interested in both the army and Navy and am unsure of what to pick and if the army, which role.

I was originally focused on getting my bachelors of nursing which is what I'd do re the Navy. I know this is an option for the army, however many other roles have appealed to me such as household cavalry or dog handler. I have never been one to stray far from home so this is a big decision for me.

I would also like to add that these roles appeal to me due to my background with dogs and in the equine industry. However, I feel there is better career progression in nursing, especially once you look past the army/navy and into the outside world if you were to choose to leave after your 4 or so years of service.

The Army does have plenty of different roles of which you would be better off going to your local careers office for more information on what is available and what jobs will suit you based on wants and education.

Dog handling can be a difficult one to go into as it is a popular choice but background work especially in a veterinary practice or as a dog handler will go a long way to achieving this goal quicker it may be worth looking at other roles such as a technician too.

Posting cant always be guaranteed close to home however some units have a better chance than others but this would be more based on your personal choice. The nursing role in the Army is the qualification as it is anywhere only difference being the military training you take part in and this will be dependant on if you're wanting to go the officer or soldier route again this can be explained more by your local careers office.
