I have asthma and I wanted to know if I could still become a paratrooper?

I have had asthma and have had it since I was born. I am currently taking medication for it but i also wanted to know if it does stop me from becoming a paratrooper, how long do I have to be off the medication to be allowed to join?

You have to be at least 1 year clear from any breathing problems and any medication for. Once you meet this criteria you will then have to conduct a spirometry test during you application at the Assessment centre. Should you pass your spirometry, medical and meet the current fitness standards for becoming a paratrooper as listed on the Army jobs website on the link below then you will be able to join.
