I had three osteochondral defects and fractured my femur, I'm more or less healed after a 16 months of physio and I'm still relatively fit from years of dance training before my injury. I still want to serve as a ward nurse or physiotherapist depending on my A-Level results in 2022, will I be able to pass the medical ?
Hello,
I am afraid we are unable to give individual medical advice on this forum.
This section of the website gives you an idea of what conditions may cause people to fail medicals https://apply.army.mod.uk/how-to-join/can-i-join/medical#which-medical-conditions-will-stop-me-joining?
What I would say, is that people do often fail medicals at the initial stage as the criteria used by the recruitment team is quite strict. However, if you do fail, but feel that you are fit and physically capable enough to join the military, there is the option to appeal the decision. Depending on why you have failed, this may then mean you are assessed by a military specialist who can then provide the recruitment team with more information on whether you are a suitable candidate for the military.
Best of luck.
