You absolutely can, yes.
We have a team, of varying abilities at every sport all over the forces world. If MMA isn't represented at your Unit then you will be able to set up your own MMA club and encourage others to take up the sport.
Thank you for you're reply are you able to control what unit you go to if your looking to do certain things such as MMA or are just given one at random
This depends on which avenue you'd be interested in. If you like the sound of a Supporting role then you'll always be given a preference, if the unit/job is available then you'll get it.
If you choose a more Combat orientated role such as the Infantry, RAC, ACC, RA then you'll have alot more focus on the more limited places you can be assigned. Therefore you'll have more of a narrowed option to understand where you would end up.
They'll certainly never be random. Your career is steered towards your aspirations as much as possible.
Thank you found this very helpful I'm going to a recruitment agency tomorrow to sign up
It's my pleasure.
You might find it useful that applying to join the Army is now entirely virtual, so you could simply apply online via the Army website to save you going into a Army Recruiting Centre. Entirely up to you. Good luck with your application.
