I'd like to join the army but I'm technically not english

Joao E. asked a question to Eamon K.

I have family roots in the uk or I have been drawn to believe and I have a background in engineering and I would do almost anything to get a chance to serve the army, is there a way I could apply now or do I need to live in the uk for 5 years and apply to citizenship because I think I'm more useful now with the fresh memory of my math skill and playing rugby on the side, I'd say this is what the army is looking for and im quite lost in life so I'd really like to get a chance to prove myself

    Hi Joao,

If you apply your eligibility will be checked and they'll ask you for any extra information needed. So, my advice would be to apply and find out. Applying doesn't mean you've committed to joining.
