Good morning and thanks for your question,
Reading is something which we in the army will continue to encourage wherever possible. Something which can increase so many skills and help with mental health too! So it's great to hear that you are already an avid reader as you described.
To answer your question, yes, the army does have a library service which is free for all personnel to use. This can be utilised from wherever you are in the world simply by browsing through their extensive catalogue of non fiction, fiction, education and study and so much more. As well as this, they will post the books to you free of charge for use as long as required.
It's a service which is definitely not used to it's full potential by many soldiers and so i'm sure there will be alot of options available to you if you choose to use it!
Hope that helps and best of luck for the future.
Thank you, just curious, is the Great Dane on the picture with you a soldier?
Hi Caroline,
Thanks for your question,
Unfortunately not no, whilst we do have a range of military working animals in various roles, the one in my picture is my own dog. I'm not sure she would last very long as a soldier despite her size!
Yes, the Great Danes might have heart problem maybe due to their huge size. they also are deemed to be couch potatoes. I am a dog boarder, I love dogs in all shapes and sizes, but the Great Danes...I am just in awe. I also was told that soldiers can have dogs in the barracks, this is way cool. i know a RAF man who could take his to work! a life-saver even many times in people's lives. Thank you for your kind answer.
