The training period for a qualified doctor is 10 weeks at the RMAS which is the short course for officers as professionally qualified. This would be up to yourself to arrange childcare during the training phase and is up to you as to when you want to complete this. If you wanted to delay it for your child you could always apply later down the line and have up to the age of 55 to apply as a doctor within the Army if registered with the GMC so there is no need to rush.
