I am 22 years old and about to finish my MEng in Mechanical engineering, what opportunities are there for me?

I am in the final year of my master's degree and am currently looking at job opportunities. I am predicted to graduate with a first-class as I currently maintain a 4.0GPA. I am a British national and have always been intrigued by the military. I was curious to know if anyone, with experience in the military, would be able to help visualise a potential career path for me. Thank you.

    Hi there!

An MEng in Mechanical Engineering would set you up well for a role in the Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineers (REME). Whether you want to chose a soldier or officer career would be down to you and the selection process but if this is your passion then you would definitely add great value there.

The role of a REME officer firstly sees you leading highly skilled tradesman in their work to maintain our array of vehicles. Where you go from there depends entirely where your passions lay and there are fantastic opportunities to gain chartered engineer status and further qualifications in project management amongst others.

If you want to find out anymore about the role of an REME officer then please have a look further here - https://jobs.army.mod.uk/roles/royal-electrical-and-mechanical-engineers/engineering-platoon-officer/. You will also find out plenty more about the other roles the Army has to offer.
