I am 18 and keen to join the para reg. I have GCSEs and IB. Can I do basic training, go to uni, and then join para reg?

Hi, I am 18. I have 10 GCSEs and the International Baccalaureate. I have offers from Southampton and Nottingham unis for Aerospace Engineering. I would like to join the parachute regiment. Can I do basic training, then go to uni and then join the para reg? What application should I complete? Thanks

Hi Zachary, thanks for your question!
I reccomend that you look at potentially joining the British Army as an Officer with those types of grades. Have you ever looked into this option?

The Army offer a range of financial support packages, bursaries and scholarships to select candidates during further education and Uni, You can join now before going to uni and be paid to learn. Please see the following link for more information (copy and paste) : https://jobs.army.mod.uk/regular-army/entry-options/officer/

Once you finish Uni and attend Officer training at Sandhurst you could still join the Para Regt but as an officer. I would suggest that you go to your nearest Army Career centre as soon as possible for them to give you more advice or follow the promps on the link i shared.

    Good luck!
