How would a cybersecurity graduate join the army and be a cyber security engineer? Is there a certain path?

    Hi Joel,

There are two main soldier roles I would suggest for someone with your qualifications. Those would be a Cyber Engineer (https://jobs.army.mod.uk/roles/royal-signals/cyber-engineer/) or EWSI (https://jobs.army.mod.uk/roles/royal-signals/electronic-warfare-signals-intelligence/). For both of these roles you would conduct Basic Training for 14 weeks prior to then moving onto Phase 2 specialist training.

A career in the Royal Signals would utilise your prior experience and enable your professional development to continue. Alternatively, you could join as an officer and during your time at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, you would be able to apply to join the Royal Signals where your skills would be equally well used. This role would more of a leadership and management position compared to hands on cyber security so it all depends on what you want from your career.

As with all roles in the Army, your path starts with submitting an application and then one of our team will be in touch. You can ask more questions there and they will be able to give you as much information as you need.
