Hi there,
This is a difficult question to answer as there are a number of variables. Traditionally there is a period when you first start training when you are not allowed to go home, you have a lot of training to fit into a short time and so you will be very busy. For me it was my first 5 weeks. This also allowed me to bond properly with my fellow trainees. Following this period you will likely get your weekends free to do as you wish unless you are on exercise. That’s not to say your evenings aren’t free but you are very busy preparing for the next day.
Once you get to Initial Trade Training it is similar but you are expected to manage your own time more.
Once you arrive at regiment your evenings and weekends are yours unless you are on duty or exercise. outside of training you have more control of when you can take off and so you could request a day of leave to go see family or friends.
Hope this helps
