Hi, great question and a question we're often asked. During training (both as a soldier and officer) you will barely see your friends and family due to the nature of training but you do have your phone to make calls, FaceTime etc. After finishing training you can see your friends and family as often as you like. SOmetimes it will be difficult as you might be posted to the other side of the country but some people might be posted to their home town. Being in the army is like a normal job; sometimes your job will require you to be away (so you can't see your friends and family) but most of the time if you're around you can see them, stay with them etc etc.
