Hi, great question - this will depend on a number of things; the rotation (who is doing what and when), it may also depend on operational commitments / requirements at the time. There are 2 sides to the household cav - Household Cav Regt (this is the operational unit) and Household Cav Mounted Regt (these are the ceremonial ones). You could spend 2-3 years doing one then change to another or could be months depending on what the army commitment is at the time.
