All GUARDS battalions rotate through ceremonial duties, the time of which can vary, the Coldstream Guards do have a specific ceremonial Coy. When you promote and change rank the guard duty does change.

Thanks Dorian, when you say the time on ceremonial rotation can vary, just roughly, are we talking a couple of weeks at a time, a couple of months or longer, and over a couple of years how much time can a guardsman expect to spend on ceremonial duty... Reason for asking is my son is thinking about joining the guards.
