Hi there,
Thanks for your question.
Phase 1 (basic training) is 13 weeks long, and Phase 2 (Initial Trade Training) ranges from 15-27 weeks depending on the trade you choose. These combined are classed as ‘Initial Training’.
From day 1 of basic training you will be paid an annual rate of £18,687. After initial training you will be paid an annual rate of £23,496 (some roles actually get more than this!).
Each year you will receive an annual review to ensure that you’re able to progress through the ranks – and this means that you’ll unlock higher pay as you progress.
At present (April 24) the Army is also offering people joining as full time Chefs or Petroleum Operators an extra £6,500. Talk to your recruiter to find out if you qualify for this if you are interested.
I hope this helps but please feel free to come back to me if you need more info.
Katie
