Unfortunately there isn't a direct answer to this, Joining as an officer can differ entirely depending on what job you are doing and what Unit/Regiment you join.

In the British army, the job of an officer primarily is command, you will be the leaders and commanders, ensuring the safety and cohesion of those whom work under your command.

This position requires a huge amount of responsibility and if its something you're willing to take on, sometimes you will have to look at the bigger picture and assess the situation, ensuring your team will get the job done correctly under your guidance.

It will also depend on the deployment you are on, in the army, it's not all about fighting wars, some of our deployments involve providing humanitarian aid and providing training and support to other nations and so much more. An officer in these deployments would be primarily organising and ensuring the smooth running of these operations and liaising with civilian authorities along side numerous other tasks and specialisations.

This is only scratching the surface of the job itself, and if you see yourself as someone who has the qualifications, drive and responsibility to take it on, then it can open up many doors to other opportunities.
