Hello, Ben.
I see your question hasn't been answered yet, if i could I would like to give you my answer.
Within the Infantry, you get every weekend off that you not required for.
What i mean by this is you could be deployed on exercise/operations, needed for guard duty, on a course or plans with your friends.
If any of these come up, then you probably won't be able to go home at a weekend but these don't come around very often.
