How long do I have to be asthma free to join the army

    It used to be 4 years but current policy is now 1 year free from any breathing difficulties and medication from meaning no inhalers etc. Ultimately the decision will still be made by the doctor who does your review and if you have had asthma at any point in your life during your medical you will also be required to do a spirometry test which will be done at the Assessment Centre.
