how does having a previous suicide attempt, myoclonic epilepsy- not triggered by flashy lights affect joining the army?

currently, looking for future careers to pursue as a year 11 student leaving.

    Hi there, many thanks for your question. Unfortunately you would not be eligible to join the Army both due to the epilepsy and self harm. Having self harmed will preclude you unfortunately due to the Army having a duty of care to individuals - if you have already been in a stressful situation which caused an attempt at self harm the army would deem you unsuitable due to the high pressures and stress an army career can have and the potential for you to self harm in the future.
