How do you tell your parents and make them understand your interests when they think bad of the army?

Hi.
I would engage with them at the earliest opportunity and explain to them what you want to do in the army explaining the reasons behind your decision. Highlight the benefits of what army life has to offer such as pay, leave, qualifications & apprenticeships. Get them to help with your decision and if possible get them to speak to a serving soldier at a careers office or an event that may be running near you. If you have any relatives or friends serving they could also help.
You could also point them in the direction of this forum where there are many serving soldiers that have can answer any questions they may have.
There are also online events designed for gatekeepers (parents, guardians etc) that they can attend, where they can get further information about the army. Speak to your careers office or candidate support manager who may be able to arrange these.
