    Hi Daniel,

    Being promoted in the Army takes into account a few factors such as; personal performance, courses/qualifications completed and time served. Each year, soldiers and officers are given an annual report, much like a school report. If you meet all the criteria for promotion and your report is good enough, you will be recommended for promotion and selected to promote by a board of selected senior soldiers/officers.

    How long promotion takes depends on your trade and rank for soldiers. Different trades have different lengths of time you must serve between each rank.
