im thinking of joining when im older but i don’t get the whole SAS reserve thing on the website & people r saying that u need 3 yrs of service in the military to join the SAS as a soldier so i'm jst confused on how you actually do it because reserve is just serving in your spare time, isnt it?
Hello. You can join the SAS reserves (21 or 23 SAS) as a civilian which has its own process for application. However, in order to join 22 SAS which is the full time operational regiment, you will have to first do a career in the British Army. Your application will at that point will be considered by your time served and experience gained in service. If your application is accepted then you will have to complete SAS selection which can take several months. Thanks and if you have any other questions please ask.
oh, so how you apply for 22? do you just ask your CO?
You would ask your Careers Management Officer when you are at your unit.
