How do I sign up to row for the army and get paid

Scarlett P. asked a question to Toby W.

I’m currently a y12 student who rows for GB and I have been told by army workshops in school and universities that I can get paid for simply just rowing in the army so how do I sign up for that ?

    Hi Scarlett,

Sport and Adventurous training are a big part of Army life and you are correct in that you still get paid whilst undertaking these. In order to row for the Army, you will have to be soldier or officer first in any trade or role. From there you will be able to express your interests in rowing and get involved in the Army Rowing community.

If you go to university, you will likely be able to access this through membership of the University Officer Training Corps where many of our sports and societies are also open to them.
