Hello I’m going to join this year but in summer I have multiple personal events such as wedding etc which I’d very much not like to miss. Is it best to join after these events? Do you get leave during basic training?

Zero leave during basic training i'm afraid, with the exception of a weekend.
Unless you are joining AFC Harrogate, in which case you will have several weeks leave. that being said, it will be everyone in your troop/platoon taking said leave at the exact same time.
It's really up to you. Personally i'd make the sacrifice and join now, even at the risk of missing these events. But thats me. If you want to wait you can.
