Brad K. asked a question to Toby W.
My problem is that paras/infantry don’t get much for when I leave onto civi street I have been told. On the other hand I could join REME to secure something on the outside but wouldn’t enjoy it very much in the many years of service I plan to do. Any advice would go a long way, thanks in advance!
Hi Brad,
It is always going to be a difficult choice to make and it sounds like you have already made steps to seek to compare them. My advice would always be go for what you enjoy as it makes it so much easier to commit to and give it your all. There are still plenty of transferrable skills you can gain as an infantry soldier and whilst there are less formal qualifications in this role, it will stand you in good stead when you leave the Army.
