Hello thank you for the question!
Are you looking at Dog Handler or as a Vet Tech? As those are the main roles that work with Dogs.
Additionally if you are certain to go down the Dog Handler route then this can be a lengthy process as the waiting list can be long due to the popularity of this role. However personally having an Insight to the RAVC - Dog Handler is rewarding also challenging. My best advise is to do a lot of research as certain dogs come under set brackets for example a GSD Dog would come under Protection Dogs, Labs can come under Vehicle Search. So when you go the medical board. You'll have the knowledge to understand what dogs do what. If successful all RAVC soldier start as Protection Dog Handlers for a certain amount of time. All of this will come after Basic Training.
Vet Tech route you'll have to have a qualification to be in this role. As you'll be the main source of medical care for Army's animals.
I wish you the best of luck in your GCSE Exams!
