Hi there, I am currently looking into joining the infantry. Could you tell me how subsidised housing works?

Hello. So, your Army accommodation is subsidised both if you have your own room in the bock or if you live in a house, which is referred to as Service Family Accommodation (SFA) . In order to get SFA you will need to meet the criteria i.e prove a long term relation ship with your partner and complete the necessary process to apply. When you have moved into SFA the monthly cost will be deducted from your wages so you wont need to worry about managing recurring payments.
You will only be able to get SFA after you have completed your basic training and then you will only be able to apply in your trade training if you are their for over 6 month. You will be able to find out more details from your chain of command at the appropriate time so continue to enquire as you go through training.
Thanks. If you have any other questions please let me know.
