Great questions!
I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside Vehicle Mechanics (VMs), a typical day in camp for them would be: Physical Training (PT) in the morning, then the rest of the day is in the workshop (with a break for lunch) conducting routine maintenance and repairing vehicles.
Whilst the VM role involves some Logistic work, it’s more of an Engineering role. So, for a better insight, it would be worth directing your question to a VM or to post your question into Engineering. More information on the VM role it can be found here: https://jobs.army.mod.uk/roles/royal-electrical-and-mechanical-engineers/vehicle-mechanic/. It’s also worth searching “Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers” on social media to see what they get up to.
As for bringing your PC over: in work, no, we use a Ministry of Defence network, so it won’t be compatible. In your accommodation, absolutely, it’s your own space.
Wi-Fi varies from camp to camp but is usually good and coverage is getting better. Lots of us enjoy streaming and online gaming with no problems.
