To become a doctor within the military you would still need to be qualified as a doctor. You may be entitled to a bursary to help you to achieve this once completed you will go to Sandhurst for the PQO/ professionally qualified officer training which lasts for 10 weeks.

Hi, thanks for replying. As i'm in year 12, would i need to apply at the end of year 12 to be in the army or does this happen in year 13? I was curious to know what i had to do in year 12 regarding applying ect.

    Thank you

You can register your interest in joining. The application process can take some time however those going for the GDMO/GP route usually have to apply for a bursary in their first year if that's the route you want to go down for more information you'll be better of talking to the NRC about time frames and what is available to you as they will be able to put you in touch with the relevant people. To register your interest you can start you application at any point and can drop out if you feel as though it is not for you until you sign your official contract nearer the time.
