Hi, how do the army job preferences work?

For example, if my first choice is competitive, OPMI, do I automatically get put for my second or third choice? And what happens if you fail phase 2, do you restart or do you get your second or third choice/ or a different role? Thank you!

Hello. The decision of which job choice you choose is absolutely yours. If you don't get you first choice for what ever reason then your recruiter will consider you for your second. However, you may choose any other job role you are eligible for at that time.

It is only at the point you have been given a placement for basic training that you cannot choose a different job without your recruiter having found you another placement for training. You will not have to restart any part of the process unless the job role you chose to do, requires you to retest at the selection centre. However, it is important to understand that depending on your results at selection it is not a guarantee you will be able to retests. You may not be invited back to improve you results.

Thanks. If you have any other questions please let me know.
