Toni A. asked a question to James W.
Hi there
In terms of choosing where you train. There are a number of different training establishments across the UK but some are specific to specific trades. If you priority is location over role then you can chose....to an extent. If you preference is role over location then you cannot. Likewise, choosing where you will be based, you can seek to join a regiment that is local to you, but you are not guaranteed a place and the regiment can move but this happens infrequently.
Unfortunately with alot of the questions on here there is a solid sprinkling of "it depends" with any of our answers as the Army adapts to meet the current needs so things can change.
This wont have helped entirely but hopefully have given you some context. If you have any follow up questions then please let me know.
