Hi Matthew,
There is plenty of positives to being a vehicle mechanic, for one the qualifications gained are second to none. We have the opportunity to work on not just cars but trucks, quads, armoured vehicles, plant equipment meaning the sheer amount of experience, knowledge and skills you will gain as a mechanic are vastly superior to those of a civilian mechanic. Opportunity to travel is always good and as a vehicle mechanic you will get the opportunity to work overseas maintaining and repairing vehicles.
And... fixing tanks is much better than fixing a ford fiesta.
