Hi Dan, In terms of joining at 34/35 It is not as common as people joining in there late teens early 20s but that doesn't mean people don't do it, The opportunity is there for people at your age but get discouraged thinking that it will just be them and a bunch of younger people but once you get past that initial hurdle (basic training) there will be people of all ages.
