Thank you for your question. Transfer in the Army is a route available to all soldiers and officers but there will always be a need to ensure you have the right qualifications for the role you wish to transfer to.
The RMP and Parachute Regiment are both looking for quite different things. The Paras will see you undertaking more physically demanding selection and training, starting at the assessment centre. The need you to be fit to carry heavy kit long distances and fight. The RMP on the other hand are looking for higher levels of cognitive ability so you can be effective at undertaking police work.
If you have both of these qualities then you absolutely can do both roles but I wouldn't say planning a career on a role change is the best place to start. I always recommend asking yourself what it is you enjoy most and driving for that. Remember, you can do P Company (pre-parachute selection course) and the Commando course as an RMP soldier or officer, so if you want the physical challenge you don't have to be a Para do find it.
If you want to become a Para, then check out the Army Jobs website and read up on the selection criteria and start working hard on your fitness in preparation for the assessment centre.
Hope that helps.
