Thanks Jason appreciate the info. I am waiting on my GP to send my records before I can get a date! Do you know if there was much of a back log? Good luck to you mate!

I know they are working hard to get everything done, it may be easier for you to go in and collect your records ersonally and drop them off at the recruitment center. The doctors have 4 weeks to send the medical records and from my experience they like to use the full 4 weeks.

I've done all the pysical assesments at home, and Ive passed them all, I know why I want to join, and I know where I want to go with the army, my recruiter thinks I am ready but I still think I could have do a lot more, and that I am not prepared, but that is just my nerves.

Yeah I think you can get more nervous when you want it so much! I reckon you will leave there thinking why was I worried though! What trade you looking to join in the engineers?

Ah fairplay! Something to come out with on the outside. I havent got great GCSE's might have to join as a bricklayer or driver and hopefully re-train in the future

My plans are for the full 24-year term, and use the trade as a fall back in case I need to leave the army for unforeseen circumstances. But as a driver or Brick layer, you will always have work, I'd go in as either one and then work on your GCSE and in 4 years apply for a new role.

Yeah I think you should join with the mindset of staying! Just good to get a plan b in my case as I dont know any trades or job roles. Yeah fingers crossed i can get that chance! When did you put your application in? I put my in in march, just trying to work out how far a back log might be

Last year, but with medical and a referral, and then Covid, it has all been a long-winded process. But They called and asked me when I would be ready for assessment, told them i'd be ready at the end of June, and then they called me back asking why end of June, and that they were going to put me up sooner.

Yeah sounds a long process man. Atleast your not far away now. I was hoping to get on it at the end of june but I still have another two weeks waiting for my medical forms. I wonder how long your wait to receive a date after the assessment.

As of 2020, I am in year 9, soon I will be taking my GCSE's. I have a British passport and citizenship, however, I've lived in the UAE all my life. Can I still join, as this an ambition of mine?

Yes you can when the time is due...since you are a British citizen why cant you join their army.unless you have serious medical complications that can prevent you
