    Hi Tom,

    Thanks for your question.

The Royal Artillery is no more or less competitive than other Regiments, they are all just selective. By that I mean that they select people who they feel espouse the ethos and values they live and work by, and that will get the most from their time in that Regiment, and will be able to offer value back into the Regiment. There are always a lot of people looking to join the Artillery as it offers such a diverse and fulfilling career.

The good thing about the Royal Artillery is that it is quite large, and therefore requires quite a few new officers each year. There are generally around 15-20 places offered to each Sandhurst intake. To give yourself the best chance of being selected I would suggest doing your homework into the history of the Regiment, the trades and specialities within it, and the development and investments which are likely to be made in the next 10 years.

Please come back to me if you have any further questions, and good luck with your application.

    Katie
