For the surviellance artillery observer if i feel I am not suited can i stay as a gunner (trained as a gunner first)?

If you're not sure about being an Artillery Surveillance Observer you should look at other roles available before applying. It's possible to re-trade once you're in, but it isn't a given and can be a laborious process: it's far easier to join into the trade that you want to be.
It may be worth looking at the other roles that the Royal Artillery have to offer, or maybe even the wider Army. With hundreds of roles, there's something for everybody.
