Following training, how is it determined where you will be based? I assume as a TSS, every MoD site requires one. Thanks

    Hello Chris,

Towards the end of Phase 2 training, you are asked to submit your preferences for your posting. These are your top 3 places you would like to go, in priority order.

However, due to the amount of knowledge and experience required for TSS, your first posting is normally a REME Battalion as this offers the most exposure to large numbers of equipment, weapons, training oppurtunies and deployments. The REME battalions are based in Wattisham, Colchester, Catterick, Tidworth and near Swindon.

Once you have completed your first posting (2-3 years) you will be able to submit a posting preference again and go anywhere the Army are present. Every Unit needs the REME and every REME detachment needs a TSS.

I hope this helps, if you have any further questions, please get in touch.

    Regards,

    Jay
