Eyesight requirements

Hi. My eyesight, corrected (with contact lenses/spectacles), is almost perfect, but uncorrected terrible! I'm interested in either the HR Specialist role in SPS or the Armourer role in the REME. I've done my research and seen the 'PAP10' document online, etc. Could my poor sight limit me for either of these roles (for confirmation, it's 'just' shortsightedness - nothing else e.g. squint, etc)

    Hi

we can't answer specific medical questions unfortunately. If you look at the medical section of the Army Jobs website, it will give you more information. My best advice would eb to apply and have a medical examination to determine whther you meet the minimum reqirements.

Hi Ryan. You get a medical during assessment. My uncorrected eyesight was v poor when I joined (had laser surgery since). I wore contact lenses/glasses and has no issues.

Thanks Kieran. That was just about to be my next question....can you wear your lenses whilst serving?

I much prefer wearing lenses than spectacles!

    Yeah you definitely can

I wore daily disposables though, much less stress if you lose them
