I'm a third year medical student at QUB with the army medical bursary. I understand that I have a 4 year return of service (GDMO +1 year), just wondering how the timing works with regard to training (e.g. for GP) and the number of years I can expect to be commissioned after my GDMO years? Thank you!
The minimum return is 4 years service that will start day 1 of Basic Training.
That said, if the Army is paying your bursary for what I'd imagine is a punchy and expensive course your return of service might be more than 4 years.
Your return of service begins once you have qualified from your degree your offficer recruitment officer should be able to explain this process to you.
