Yes, usually. Sometimes applicants are found unsuitable at the current time, but may be able to reapply in future if their medical condition has resolved, however this would usually be made clear at the time.

Thank you for replying. My son was PMU because he used to be on PIP. He is no longer in PIP. He was misdiagnosed for the reasons he got PIP. He was also PMU for the reasons he got PIP however he tried to argue and pay for professionals to redo assessments and found that he had been misdiagnosed as a child. Seems extremely unfair. No one seems to be able to answer when he can reapply. This was a battle with Capita.

Sorry you have had a tough time with Capita. I am afraid I don't have anything to do with the recruiting process, but I hope the following is helpful.

Generally speaking, if you believe the reason he is PMU is incorrect (i.e he was misdiagnosed) then the best option is usually to appeal the decision and provide supporting evidence (up to date assessments). Usually candidates are provided with information on how to appeal at the time, but if that is not the case, then that is what I would be asking. If he reapplied he is likely to fail the initial medical (it can be a bit of a tick box exercise), so don't be afraid to appeal the decision if the information in his medical records is not correct.

Hi

He did appeal. It got to appeal 2. He was told he couldn’t appeal and this was the final outcome from capita and recruitment. All medical evidence from experts were paid for and sent as proof.

Sorry to hear that Mel. Usually appeals are also reviewed by a military occupational medicine physician or a military specialist in that area, and their decision is often final. I am sorry I cannot be any more help.
