Does anyone know the rough timeframe between finishing training and being assigned your station?

Liam,
You will know where you are going before you leave Initial Trade Training (Ph2). In my expereince of the Royal Armoured Corps, while you are there and sometimes before, you apply to the regiment you want to go to and the process will select and confirm where you are going. There will also be visits from your Regiments/Battalions to training establishments to prepare you for what lies ahead.
Hopefully this addresses any questions you have but feel free to ask more questions in the replies.
