Does an officer get as much combat experince as a combat soldier

The officers that are in a combat role like a troop leader for example, will be in command of the troop or section that’s in combat they are in the thick of it in light cavalry and infantry as much as the regular soldiers however they deal a lot more with planning and battle organisation than just the combat side.
