Hi, great question. There are many people in the army who do different things outside work; play sports for local teams, play in local bands, work as photographers or work for their family business during holidays, have their own company (fitting black out windows in cars as an example) etc etc. If you have time and it doesn't affect your job there is no reason you couldn't. You would need permission from your boss though. I hope that helps.
