Your basic pay remains the same no matter what task you are on. This allows people to know what they will get paid each month so they know what to expect in their bank and can plan and live within their means.
However, what you will generally get when on long exercises or operations, is additional allowances which go on top of your wage and bump it up. Some deployments also come with bonuses on your return.
The pay in the British Army is very fair, and when coupled with the allowances, subsidised food and accommodation, and the incredibly generous non-contributory pension, it is a really great package.
