Hi there,
The short answer is no. As a full time soldier, you're paid a fixed salary, no matter your working hours. This is paid monthly, and your pay will increase when you promote.
Depending where you're working or which job role/ cap badge you're in, this might dictate your working day. So as an example, in my previous role in a busy flying squadron, it wouldn't be uncommon to work long shifts of up to 12 hours a day/ night. However, if there were quieter periods, or perhaps there was no flying going on, I might have only been in work for 2-3 hours.
I believe the hours you work do balance themselves out, and financially, the armed forces is very beneficial.
A point to note is if you're away on exercise/ operations, you will be entitled to more money, especially if overseas.
Hope that helps,
Amie
