Do they care?

I'm a 14-year-old who's really interested in joining the army and planning to apply as soon as I turn 18. I'm just a bit concerned because I think I'm shorter than the height requirement, and it's been bothering me. What is the requirement for height? How do i contact a recruit?

    Hi there

The minimum height for joining the British Army is 1m48cm or 4ft10. There are however roles that are limited in both lower height limits and upper height limits.

At 14 you have years left to grow so I wouldn’t let it worry you until you are looking to join at 18, as it growing is out of your control. Once you are looking to join, assess your options then. I’d personally focus on the things that are in your control such as your fitness etc. that way, when the time comes you are entirely prepared to join.

Both my parents are short, and I believe I’m going to be short too because it’s in my genes. I’m a bit worried that I won’t grow tall enough, but I just want to make it into the part of the Army where I can do combat on land saving lifes and neutralising threats, not driving or anything like that.
