Anonymous asked a question to Paratrooper R.
Im a vertically challengedð male, 5â3 Iâm very fit and I am just wondering if I go to sandhurst and after graduation would they take someone who is short. Is there any height limits on personal who serve in the paras and would I struggle with a short height
Hi, many thanks for your question. The Army take officers who are all shapes and sizes - as long as you pass the Army Officer Selection Board. Quite often the fittest are the smallest. I remember an overseas cadet in my Company who was so tiny he could fit inside a bergan (the big rucksack) and one of the Fijian officers carried him up the corridor ;) There will be times in training where everyone will struggle on something, regardless of height, weight, strength etc because of tiredness or just wrong mindset on a given day. Sandhurst (and the Paras) will test your strength of mind as much as it will test you physically!
