Your role as an officer is not primarily to be the specialist in your trade, rather to be the management of the specialists within your trade. That’s not to say you won’t be maintaining and Adding an extra hand on jobs but it’s not your primary role And you will be trained with knowledge of rather than taught exactly how to do.
